One of the reason’s I feel thankful this week is the cancellation of two of my classes. This means that I get to leave school early on Monday and Wednesday, avoiding traffic and actually spend some time with my family.
Unfortunately, as a retail employee, I will be forced to work on Friday. Rather than spending the morning shopping and the afternoon/evening playing board games as I have done in many past years, I will be busy folding shirts and straightening ties. Not that I mind cleaning up in the department so much but I’ll definitely miss having a block of days off.
Ever since stumbling across videos from Bushman’s ukulele video contest on Youtube (Like this one, this one and this one), I have eagerly desired to enter the contest myself.
In preparation, my sister and I purchased a ukulele earlier this year with the intention of putting together a few songs for entry.
Well, the 2009 contest has finally opened up for submissions but we haven’t gotten started. Unfortunately, since buying the uke this summer, we’ve gotten busy and haven’t made much progress leaving us with serious problems.
I’ve identified several obstacles to our participation:
