As I prepared for school this morning, I looked outside and was dismayed to see sheets of rain falling from the sky. As a native Seattlite rain doesn’t ussually bother me too much, if anything it’s a sweet relief from the accursed Tokyo heat. However, I am also a bicycle commuter and continuous buckets of water pouring down from above on my unproptected clothes and backpack can be uncomfortable and damaging.
By the time I actually left though the rain had subsided. Typically the rain here is very heavy but lasts for only a short time. I decided that I would probably be able to get to school before the next downpour so I hopped on my bike and headed out.
Apparently, the break in precipitation was merely a ruse to get me out from shelter. Within five minutes of riding the sky opened up once more instantlly soaking me, my backpack and condemning to a day of soggy shivering.
Preictably, my day was somewhat less than comfortable.

I’m sorry about that. I hope you are dried up now. :) I also hope none of your books or anything got too wet. Once I spilled a whole glass of water on my evolutionary biology/ecology book. It was never the same. I didn’t sell it either. :)
Welcome to typhoon season.
The sudden downpour of rain was just wonderful during my trek in the regions marked “Here there be dragons.”
The funny thing is it’s still pretty hot as they rain hits you like hail.
Maybe checking the weather channel can assist you in your planning next time or just get a good raingear:o)
