I was riding the Tozai line, reading C.S. Lewis’ Surprised by Joy when a stranger started talking to me. It turns out he was a Chinese preacher and had recognized my book.
We talked for ten or fifteen minutes about the Church in China and in Japan before parting ways. It was a very interesting and encouraging conversation. It’s always interesting to see the way God works in unexpected ways to stimulate believers.
