I found this greatly amusing and therefore stole the following from the Wikipedia:
The name “Postal Service” was chosen due to the way in which the band produced their songs. Jimmy would write the music then send DAT tapes to Ben, who would edit the song as he saw fit, adding his vocals along the way, and send them back to Jimmy via “Postal Service”. In 2004, however, the United States Postal Service sent the band a cease and desist letter citing their trademark on the phrase “postal service.” After negotiations, the USPS relented, allowing the band use of the trademark in exchange for promotional efforts on behalf of the USPS and a performance at their annual National Executive Conference. Additionally, the USPS website sells the band’s CDs.
Furthermore, it was reported on Pitchforkmedia on 16 January 2007 that UPS is using a track from Give Up, “Such Great Heights,” for their TV and online advertising. This has been confirmed, as the commercials began airing shortly after the report came out.
“Well sure boys, you can have the name of a government agency, just give us a free concert and let us sell your CD’s at the post office.” Hilarious!

I’ve fallen into a lazy routine and I suspect that it will be hard to break free. The pathetic truth is that I haven’t been able to summon the will power for a serious attempt.
Everyday, I get up throw some leftovers or a sandwhich in a grocery bag, toss in a piece of fruit or maybe a baggie of mini-pretzels and hitch a ride in to work with Dad. I spend all day at the print shop, listening to books on tape and assembling endless boxes of little pads and cutting big sheets of paper into smaller sheets. Sometime in the evening, Dad picks me up and I go home to eat dinner and goof around until I pass out around midnight, to catch a few hours of sleep before repeating.
It’s an empty and unsatisfying existence. At night, in the few minutes I lay awake before drifting in to sleep I berate myself for another day of passivity. While in Japan, I swore to myself that I would take charge of my life, to intentionally move into adulthood instead of wallowing in continued adolescence.
A new resolve is unlikely to break me through but maybe it will get me closer and a little progress is better than what I’ve doing now.

My Birthday is past but I don’t feel like I should be twenty.

The temperature in Seattle is much too warm for my taste. When at work on the cutter, continually lifting heavy stacks of paper or rearranging pallets temperatures in excess of 90 degrees are very unwelcome. Unfortunately, tomorrow is predicted to be even hotter at about 97-98 degrees Fahrenheit.

After a lazy Saturday at home, a friend invited me to catch the 8:00 showing of Transformers. I was skeptical regarding the movies ability to create a convincing story that revolved around robots that turned into cars but having no other plans I went along. I was pleasantly surprised by an awesome movie. As you’d expect from any movie involving battle robots, Transformers is definitely better equiped in the awesome explosions and cool guns department than in the subtle plot twist department but nevertheless the movie managed to keep me happily entertained.

Today has been yet another day overwhelmed with busyness. I spent all of last night and the early hours of this morning guarding the fireworks stand, a necessary chore considering that one of the other stands on the same street was robbed last night. I stayed up til almost 2 o’clock play Clue* and then watched the Pretender on DVD until the stand opened up at 9:00. I then headed home to catch a few hours of sleep before heading back to the stand to help with sales at 3:00. In the evening we went to my grandmother’s house for a barbecue. Now I’m totally tired.
In the midst of the busyness it is easy to forget what we are celebrating, too easy to take for granted the freedoms our country has purchased with the blood of our soldiers and of our enemies. Perhaps it would be a good idea on this fourth day of July to pause and reread the Declaration of Independence and refresh in our minds the high ideals for which our forefathers fought.
*In playing I developed a strategy that I think will allow me to win the majority of future games. I’m eager to play again to find out if my new technique proves valid.

I got in a good 10 hrs. at work today, during which I finished the first 6 (of 7) tapes for the audio book “The Broker” by John Grisham. I’m really starting to like listening to books on tape while I work. Yet another way to squeeze reading into my busy schedule. I finished off Ann Coulter’s Treason, yesterday. Now, after a long day at work I’m about to head up to work the nightshift at our church’s fireworks stand. I’ll probably get to bed around 9-10 tomorrow morning. It’s going to be a long, long night.

After a long day at work I came home to find that Mom had made a big turkey dinner. It was delicious. After eating and washing a mountain of dishes my siblings and I headed up to the pool for a refreshing swim. Despite our large dinner, an hour of swimming left us famished and so we returned home to make sandwitches with dinner leftovers (to the minor irritation of Mom). To cap the day Mason and I watched a movie.
