The Rabenstranger

Today is my Dad’s birthday. I’ve been too busy pursuing my own ends to buy him the nice present he deserves on time and I regret my tardiness but I wanted everyone, especially him to know that I love him very much and even when I do a terrible job of showing it, I will always respect and admire him.

Dad hasn’t been a perfect father but as I look back I can’t even begin to count all the camp outs he’s taken me on, the times he’s given or loaned me money, all the day’s he’s fed me and tolerated me living in his house. He drove me to school every day for two semesters and still drives me to work. We’ve been on paintball excursions together, seen movies together when the girls were out of town, hunted together. I’ve worked for him and my best contact for future work was introduced by him. If I tried to list all the things he’s done for me and all the good memories we’ve shared I’d have to start a new blog and add to the list daily.

Happy Birthday Dad. Thanks for being there for me. I’ll love you forever.
