Back in Japan
I arrived back in the Land of Sushi yesterday. My plane flight was uneventful and relatively comfortable. I was slightly surprised upon boarding that the plane was not a Boeing 777 but rather an Airbus A330. I may sound like a traitor by saying this but I liked the A330 better. The seats were more comfortable and the TV's allowed you to play a wide selection of movies and games on demand rather than showing just 3 or 4 movies on a set schedule.
I am staying at the home of some friends from church while I look for an apartment. They have a very nice apartment in Chiba. They have an extra bedroom so while I am here I have a room all to myself. They are so generous. God has really blessed me with good friends.
Today I've been scouring the net for places to live. I've found several that look like possibilities although they are a little bit more expensive than I had hoped. Since I don't speak Japanese, Shou, my host, has assisted by making telephone inquiries for me. I've also been sending out emails. So far I've arranged one viewing for this evening.
All in all, I've had a very smooth arrival in Japan. So long as I find a decent apartment in the next few days I can say that God has blessed me with a nearly perfect transition.

I wish you luck! I found a place in Pueblo recently-rent was only $100 bucks but the fact that 3 guys and 1 girl lived there-not to mention not knowing them-made me wary. I called about seeing it on some strange chance they might be Christians and it was like 2 houses-guys one part girls in another-but I never got a call back. Guess God has me here this semester.
So u r staying in Chiba now? I know of several churches there when I visited. One had a congregation of 100 which is really big for Japan. I don't remember the name but I can get it for you if u r interested and haven't found it.

Both times I've flown in an A330 I've been bumped up to first class, so I guess I'm lucky with those planes. I can't compare them to 777s as I've never flown first class on one. But I've enjoyed my few 10+ hour flights I've flown on 777s.
Seahawks won their playoff game today, BTW, despite their best efforts to lose.
