A Sad Story
I surfed over to CNET today to read check reviews for a couple MP3 players when I learned that James Kim, the CNET gadget editor had died. He and his family became trapped in the snow during a family trip. He died trying to get help. His body was found the day before yesterday. At 35 he left behind a wife and two daughters aged 4 years and 7 months.

Yeah; strangely enough this was a subject of our Bible study, in reading through Psalm 80. It is a really unfair story, about the editor... what was amazing is he did survive for something like 8 days on his own, until finally he collapsed. Inspiring but also very sad.
Yeah, very tragic story cuz had he stayed back he'd be alive. Since my bro lives in Redmond, I emailed him several articles on survival skills during snow storms.
If he didn't already have kids, I'd like to have seen him nominated for a Darwin Award. He died while being an idiot.
Yeah, it's a sad story, and he was being courageous...but he ignored the Rule of Threes:
You can survive three (3) weeks without food.
You can survive three (3) days without water.
You can survive three (3) HOURS without shelter.
It's a shame that this happened, but many mistakes were made and ignoring that in favor of hero worship will deny us a learning experience.

Double posting with a few hours delay only happens when your computer is mostly-crashed for a few days but you don't want to reboot for whatever reason. Problem is fixed now.
