Firefox 2 Huzzah!
Today Mozilla released the final, official version of Firefox 2. This new version includes many improvements including more efficent resource utilization, an integrated spell checker and a modern, sleeker looking interface.
I downloaded a copy yesterday before the rush on the servers but I haven't gotten around to installing and using it yet. I've been using a fair number of extensions and I want to make sure that all of the important ones are compatible with FF2 before I make the switch.
Long may the Fox reign!

I used to use Firefox 1.5, but I switched to the beta version of IE 7 about 3 months ago, and I like it.
Palm Boy, I suspect you never fully utilized the extension functionality of FF. That's what makes it special.
While IE7 is definitely a huge improvement over the long obsolete IE6 it still doesn't bring it up to the speed of Firefox 1.5 much less the excellent FF 2.0.
No, I did use quite a few extensions.
gMail skins, foxy tunes, several different themes, blogThis!, a feed reader, live.com and ask.com search engine plugins, and some other things.
I just find IE 7 faster, but I think I'll give FF2 a try next week.
