Hooked!
On the recommendation of Quirky Child I have begun reading Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. I find it most agreeable. While I have never considered myself to be among the fans of romance novels, I find the witty dialogue and vivid charachters to be enjoyable in all their particulars.
Because of the books age, it has passed into the public domain. This means that it is no longer copy-righted and that readers can distribute it freely without obligation to its owners.
I have in my position a plain text version of the book that I am willing to share with any of my online acquaintances. It can be read on screen or printed out according to the preference of the reader. If you would like a copy, you may contact me at your convenience. My contact information is available near the top of the sidebar to the right of this post.

Oh, oh! Read Emma next. I like Emma alot. Jane Austen wrote that too. Huhhh...the question is which do I like better, Emma or Pride and Prejudice....that's a toughy. And yes, nice and witty. Witty's always good.
And the shadow walker looked at me funny when he knew I read Jane Austen. I'm going to tell him what your reading. I can't wait to see his face.
*is flattered she was mentioned*
I'm glad you like it! Austen's strengths are her colorful characters and razor sharp dialogue.
Would this make you an Austenite then? :-)
"Would this make you an Austenite then?"
Indeed it would.
That is so funny you like the book!
To EJB: Stony. That's how I will look.
To Rabenstrange: You don't question me reading manga, and I won't question you reading Austin.
You have my email address.
Hmmm... I've never read Pride and Prejudice...but I've seen the movie. I hate romance novels and the like, so I probably never will read it.

Great book! The characters are wonderful! I love Mrs Bennet and the pastor (I can't think of his name)--they are both so self-centered, I was amused!
Woody and Blondie's mom here, you should watch the BBC movie. It's about 1000 hours long but a great production. The most recent production probably isn't as good. This one has Colin Firth in it. You will sit up all night until it's over. Mr. Bennett is a hoot!
Emma is good too.
It's a good book, isn't it!
I got linked here from your BRUNETTE joke. It took me 2 before I suspected something fishy going on, but I HAD to link 3 more times....ugh.
God Bless,
Amber
