Facial Recognition Software
I think facial recognition software has a long, long way to come.
Danika of Polka Dotted Pickles mentioned a free service offered by MyHeritage in a recent blog post. The service allows users to upload a picture and then their computers analyze your photo and tell you which celebrities you look like. It appears that the MyHeritage people intend to expand the service and add more databases of photos in the future.
In hopes of determining the tests accuracy I uploaded two pictures of myself for analysis. Their computers spit out 10 celebrities for each photo. Only two matches were common to both of my photos.
I'll let you guys be the judge of tests accuracy.
Here's a recent picture of me (one of the ones I uploaded). I took it while photographing the finished gingerbread houses. I think it is a relatively accurate representation.

Now here are the people I supposedly look like.
The first is New Age singer Enya:

The second is gay 1930's song writer Cole Porter (Yuck!):

Do I look anything like either of these people? At all?

Ummm, Wow, You look A LOT like Enya, and the Song Guy. Not Like a twin or anything, but the eyes I think most in the song guy.
But I really like Enya. She has the coolest "New Age" Music I like George Winston better though.
Um...are you kidding? I don't see it. *shrug* Could be my eyes are bad - they've been terribly bothersome lately -not enough to pluck out mind you, but bothersome none-the-less.
And, hey - nice to see the front of your head for a change! *laugh*
*thumbs-up*
I think the expressions are similar, but no not really.
There are some similarities between you and Enya. I think it's mostly the facial expression though.
My picture was compared to Michael Jackson and Colin Powell. ( I do not look ANYTHING like either of them)
Hmmm....I mostly see it in the facial shape (cheekbones, jaw, etc.).
My highest match on that website was Emma Watson. Some people have told me before that I look like her, so I guess I believe that a little bit.
I agree with Virginia that Enya and you have similar facial structure.
I uploaded several pictures and it was very amusing seeing what they said. My mom is supposed to look like Nancy Sinatra while am supposed to look like Kate Winslet Doris Day and Katie Holmes. I think that they said that because we all have oval shaped faces.
I suppose the facial expressions are similar!
My picture brought up Kate Winslet and Mohammed Ali--I am wondering how on earth a person can look like both of them at the same time???
I've been meaning to ask, is that REALLY you, Rabenstrange? I thought you never posted your picture online.
