Stock Up On Vanilla Coke!

Like millions of other Vanilla Coke fans I was disgusted to learn that the Coca Cola company plans to quit producing VC. Like the superior consumer that I am I sent Coke an email to vocalize my displeasure. I encourage my readers to do the same. Send messages to,

coca-cola.support@na.ko.com

For your reading pleasure here is my letter and Coke's reply:

Mine:

Why are you guys getting rid of Vanilla Coke? I love that
stuff and must say that I am VERY disappointed.

Black Cherry Vanilla Coke is not an acceptable substitute.
I don't want a funky fruity flavor added to my VC.

Please reconsider your decision. LAN parties won't be the
same without Vanilla Coke.

Theirs:

Thank you for contacting The Coca-Cola Company, Mr. ******.
We appreciate your interest in Vanilla Coke and Diet Vanilla
Coke.

We will be launching Black Cherry Vanilla Coke and Diet Black
Cherry Vanilla Coke in January of 2006.

Vanilla Coke and Diet Vanilla Coke have been solid
contributors for the Coca-Cola brand over the past three
years. What we are demonstrating is the ability to create
and market profitable line extensions for our core brands
and the flexibility to capitalize on new opportunities when
we see them. Consumers still like vanilla and we think
Coca-Cola Black Cherry Vanilla will appeal to them. We
believe that Coca-Cola Black Cherry Vanilla gives us the best
opportunity to further develop our Coca-Cola flavors at this
time.

Vanilla Coke and Diet Vanilla Coke will go on hiatus at year's
end, but may be made available again in the future. Please be
assured that your comments have been shared appropriately.

We hope this information is helpful. If you have any
additional questions or comments, please visit our website
again.

Their reply confirms my belief that they don't
even care enough to read their fan mail. They merely used a
keyword search to get an idea of the topic and fired back a
spamo reply.

Hopefully their keyword search counts my message as opposing
their anti-VC policy.

No more Vanilla Coke? What!? What is this world coming to, I wonder? Black-Vanilla-Cherry-Wangy-Tangy or whatever the substitute is supposed to be called will surely be very disagreeable to my tastebuds. :( Kinda like the new "Now even Cheesier" Doritos. Yuck. Double Yuck. GRRRRR! Why do they have to mess up a good thing?

BTW, cool blog. I'll be back.

Yeah, same cookie-cutter response that I got 2 weeks ago. I'm shopping for syrup right now, as it costs around $10 a gallon which translates to a little over 1 cent per fluid ounce of beverage.
