Rabenfashion!
*EDIT* - Blogger decided that it didn't like my formatting for this post. As a result, I had to remove the pictures.
Yesterday, I mentioned my desire for a particular style of coat in a post. That post drew several comments concerning my sense of style and fashion in general. This post describes my usual attire and why I like the things I wear.
Blue Jeans
History
Like most people, I like jeans. They are comfortable, durable and, in their simpler, non-branded forms, relatively cheap. These are qualities I appreciate in clothing.
Since most of you are familiar with this staple of American apparel I won't bore you with a long description but will instead move on to a variety of trousers I find superior.
BDU pants
History
I love these things! They seem to be better than jeans in every way. They fit just as or more comfortably depending on the jeans. They feature Rip stip cotton/nylon which is lighter and tougher than denim. Best of all you can get them for less than five bucks shipped per pair.
BDU stands for Battle Dress Uniform. Designed and produced for the U.S. Military, BDUs must meet strict specifications and high standards of quality.
Let's explore the features comprising the pinnacle of pants technology. First, is the rip stop cotton/ nylon. This tough material is light yet warm, dries quickly and as its name implies is very resistant to wear and tear. To supplement the already durable fabric, there are double-thick, reinfoced patches on the knees and buttocks. Instead of zippers which break, jam and are difficult to replace, BDUs utilize hard plastic buttons which very rarely break and, if the unfortunate happens, are easily replaced. The wastes are adjustable (fortunately for me, I fit Small Regular sized pants perfectly). The thing that really sets BDUs apart are the pockets. The standard four pockets found on most pants are included but they are deeper and stronger than normal. Best of all are the enormous, pleated cargo pants located on the thighs. These cavernous pockets allow you to carry loads of gear. I've personally stored a sweatshirt in one of these pockets.
T-Shirts
History
I like t-shirts for the same reason everyone else does, they're cheap, comfy and cool. What's more to say?
Hoodies
HistoryI like sweatshirts. However, I'm very discriminating as to which varieties meet my approval. To meet my requirements sweatshirts must be pullovers and have hoods and uni-pockets. I dislike the ones that zip up the center because they destroy the uni-pocket and serve as a cold line down the center of my mass.
One of the nice things about hoodies is that they allow me to wear headphones surreptitiously.

Sounds like the fashions we wear in our family-basic and comfy-easy for the mom to wash. No ironing! The boys are the only ones in camo though!!!
Amen to that. God bless the men that invited jeans and BDUs.
Good choices.
BDUs are super comfy and fortunately for me they have adjustable waists...
Sweatshirts are a must. I wear my Billabong sweatshirt almost every day. T-shirts are great too, especially band ts.
Yup. That's me. T-shirts, jeans, hoodie if it's cold, and my tennies. sweet!
