My Political Orientation

I consider myself to be a guns and taxes libertarian. I am not a drugs and sex Libertarian. I believe that God has given humans freedom and that things work best when people are allowed to do as they wish and be forced to live with the consequences of their actions whether good or bad.
Here are my views on many of the issues that affect my political affiliation:
I am against abortion as I think it is medically provable and my conscience confirms that an unborn fetus is a distinct human life and therefore has the same rights as the rest of humanity. (Actually, I think they have more rights in that the baby's parents have a responsibility to care for any child they conceive.)
I am absolutely for unrestricted, unregistered private ownership of firearms and other weapons. I believe that people have a fundamental right to protect their persons, families, rights and property from anyone that would take or damage them whether criminal or government.
Taxes should be massively slashed for two reasons. First, taxes confiscate the property of citizens to fund projects which they may or may not support. Secondly, taxes give the State money to do things. The more things a State does the more it will infringe on its citizens rights.
Capital Punishment is effective. It serves as a fitting punishment for serious criminals, a strong deterrant for future criminals and justice for victims.
Government welfare should be eliminated. It steals wealth from productive members of society to reward the people who do nothing. The job of helping the poor and disadvantaged properly belongs to private charity.
I do not support the existence of government schools. The bureacracy inherent in such a school system detracts significantly from the quality of education while increasing the cost tremendously. Additionally, the installation of moral and life lessons properly belongs to parents and the Church not to the State.
I'll update this occasionally as I feel like it.

Hello,
You and I are very similar with political beliefs! I am not sure if I should be concerned with this or not?!?! HA HA HA!
Here is one of my favorites quotes:
A government big enough to give you everything you want is big enough to take everything you have.
Gerald Ford
I think that the gov't should be much smaller and people should take responsibility for their own lives and futures. I don't think that the gov't should be in the business of welfare or health care; these are personal responsibilities! It is scary when I think of all the upcoming tax increases that will happen soon because of the hurricanes-i don't think that our country can bear any more tax burden!
OK, I will shut up now and quit rambling!
Have a great day!
Thanks for the recomendations(or however you spell that word so bad at spelling) I like to hear others opinions. What channel are the reruns of firefly? Or maybe I should just get them on Netflix :)
I know how to post pictures on the blog, but I just don't know how to get my family pictures on there. I am very slow and stupid! I bet it is obvious, but I just don't get it. Thanks
~Krissy
Great ideas! I hope more leaders will in the future implement them!
ps Run for office asap! :)
Sweet! I think I'll have to take that test too. Looks like fun.
Unfortunately Krissy I don't think there are Firefly reruns. However you can get the season on dvd from a library or movie store.
Sci-Fi is rerunning the entirety of Firefly in honor of Serenity's release.
supposedly im a centrist leaning more toward the democratic side. interesting. who woulda thunk it? actually, i think i am rather conservative. oh well.
I agree with a lot of what you said, but I think the quiz had the obvious leading questions that really do not allow for defined answers. I say we have much of the same political issues that the founding fathers were dealing with.
But we are all headed to a one world government as it is...
Uh, ok just curious....if you don't believe in gov't schools, and you don't believe in welfare... who the hell takes care of all those babies that your'e going to force mothers to have when they don't want them?
Have you ever been to major inner-cities? Do you have any idea how many poor single-parent families exist? Do you understand that in cities like Chicago and New York and Detroit, many times the only place children have a "stable" part of their life is when they go to school? And the only way these children are able to have clothing on their back and food in their mouth is through a welfare system?
Seriously - tell me - who is it exactly that raises and pays for all the unwanted children?
