A New Machine
After a little online searching it looks like I will be replacing my baby with:
Biostar NF4UL-A9 @ $84 from New Egg
AMD 3500+ 939 Pin Venice Core @ $219 also From New Egg.
A pair of generic 512 DDR 3200 sticks @ $80-90 from somewhere local
Whatever hardrive is currently on sale at Fry's
And a cheapo window case with included power supply.
I'll canabalize my optical drives, peripherals and video card out of the Corpse. I haven't had much access to do shopping so if there's any deals I'm missing let me know about them. The processor in particular looks awfully high.

Just got a 160gb hard drive for 30-40 after rebate. Of course it's ATA100 but I thought that was a decent deal.
almost everything you posted about new computer guts was almost greek to me. *laugh* I have no bargain ideas - just glad you have prospects. *thumbsup*
I'm attached to my computer because I have grown up conversations via forums and can satisfy my constant need for information - I want to know it and I want to know it NOW. Waiting to go to the library would really HOOVE. But I'd live.....I might talk to myself a lot, but I'd live. *laugh*
So why the Biostar motherboard as opposed to any other model?

The Biostar because it has good reviews, its really cheap and is the only Nforce 4 motherboard I've heard of that supports both AGP and PCIe video cards (or AGP cards at all for that matter).
Thanks for the comment! I think it would be great to donate blood. I would just have to work up the guts. It is really weird, because I want to work in medicine, but doctor's offices and needles and that clean white smell always bothers me...

Have a peek at pricewatch.com. I've been using them for about a decade to find vendors with the best prices. Sometimes it's NewEgg....sometimes not. And I've been happy with every purchase I've made.
Hope it works for you because I have no idea what you are talking about. The only computer fix I know about is restarting it or calling the computer company!!! HA HA HA!
