Thanks for the comments; and on my sister's blog too. :) We both like comments. (Emily is my sister.)
I like your blog; it's always interesting to get a taste of other blogger's styles of writing. Happy birthday! Now you can vote; yippee! Boy, when I can vote there won't be any more political disputes. :) Ha ha.
So... is it the Army you want to get in to? Cool! Good luck. Are you going for the Rangers, Green Beret's or Delta Force? Well, whatever you end up doing I wish you the best of luck and safety.
I haven't yet heard of any position in the military that isn't deployed... Jessica Lynch was on maintanance before she was deployed. I would sign up if I could be sure I wouldn't have to be put on the front lines; but I can't be sure of that and I don't believe women should be fighting in combat.
Why do you want to sign up? Regardless of intentions, the military is a very honorable and patriotic career. It is such a blessing to hear about young men and fathers signing up after 9/11 for the sole purpose of protecting their country. Such a sacrifice! And yet what would America be without ordinary men who would willingly give up their everyday lives for us?
My reasons for joining would be partly patriotism and partly money.
Because, I will have an associates degree before I would join I'll get a very large signing bonus and instant promotion.
As for deployment, it is indeed very likely that I would be deployed. However, what I meant by not being on the front lines is if I'm an intelligence analysit its quite unlikely that I'll end up manning a checkpoint or performing house clearing operations.
Hey thanks for commenting on my blog. I would like to preserve a squirrel from my college campus. They are notorious for throwing nuts. And there's a girl who always wears a hairpiece that people call the squirrel b/c the hair looks like a squirrel's tail. Ha, anyway.

can I ferment frog eggs instead?
"-so long as I get somewhere," Alice added as an explanation.
"Oh, you're sure to do that," said the Cat, "if only you walk long enough."
I've read it too. Totally cool book.
The squirrel has been pickled. It squirmed a bit getting it into the jar, but I got it in there in the end.
X-Men Nutburger!?
Not really a comic book guy. However, I like most of the movies based on comic books.

God bless America!

My army ambitions are less adventurous than Spec Ops. I'm still haven't decided if I'm going to enlist but if I do, I intend to avoid the front lines.

I'm sorry if I offended you at all; I can be very forward when it comes to being "patriotic".
:)
