Driving

I took my first drive for my drivers' ed course. I have been practicing with my parents around the neighborhood and parking lots and I was relatively confident with the driving on residential streets that was the scheduled focus of Drive 1.

I was not expecting to be driving on arterials around Renton at 45 mph. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was. If I had been told I more comprehensively what the drive would entail I would have insisted that I was unready. Fortunately, the only warning I had was, "Take this right. ...okay, now look at the speed limit, 40 miles per hour." After the initial surprise I did fine. After doing it for 10 or 20 minutes, I can say that I am learning to drive much faster than I expected.

Much better then my little brother. He did his drive on his second time driving. The time early was a little practice in the Safeway lot. As I was sitting in the back observing his drive I had to bite my tongue hard. It was so... nerve-wracking.

What's also bad is when he drives us to school...

On my first drive I had to drive on some not very busy roads and did alot of things involving backing up. It was only my third time driving and I really hadn't backed up much but I still think I did okey. The backing up was the only thing that I didn't do so great on.

My parents seem to think that I'm not to bad. Dad only yelled at me once on my first time but mom let me go on real streets after having less than two hours driving practice. And I noticed a car she didn't and could have crashed in to it if I had changed lanes then like she said to. Heh, heh, heh!

I have my second drive on friday and I've have to do parking things. Drivers ed just doubled today from all the new people. I don't much like that but oh well.

I need to practice more. But I have to wait till dad gets home because I'm only insured on his car.

I should have clarified my practice with Mom and Dad totalled 3 hours. 2 of which were in a parking lot with only one center block of cars so all we could do was driving in circles and parking.

About half of my driver's ed driving was on ice, it made things much more interseting.

Neemund: On ice??! I am sure that did get interesting.

Rabenstrange: I am sure driving will soon become second nature to you. It does that pretty quickly.

Ahh, so scary.

They are actually letting TBQleet's brother drive?

I don't feel safe anymore...

Indeed maybe TBQ1337 should give us warning before his geneticly fraternal relation gets behind the wheel of that big, big van.

I'll bet that thing could dominoe at least a half dozen cars if you failed to stop at a light.

The damage that vehicle could cause would be very great indeed.

Grr... now I'm tempted... If only there weren't consequences, I'd do it.
