This makes me really mad. If you follow the link posted above you will see that the "Department of Homeland Security" has found it necessary to devote their resources to shutting down file sharers. That's right, with all of the terrorists out their they have nothing better to defend than the obsolite recording industries profits.
A couple days ago a woman was raped and murdered at my school by an illegal immagrant. Apparently such incidents are not uncommon. Currently 25% of inmates in federal prisions are immigrants, most of them Mexican. A significant percentage of violent crime commited in the United States is perpetrated by illegals.
I am disgusted that our "Homeland Security" dollars are going to exterminate geeks when there are millions of illegal immigrants murdering, raping and robbing our citizens. I am far more worried about being killed by an immigrant than I will ever be about nerds sharing music.

There is also the fact that Homeland Security shouldn't be interested in such things...
As I understand it Homeland Security is supposed to protect the country against acts of terrorism. I don't think cracking down on torrent sites such as these is within the purpose of Homeland Security. That they are overstepping their boundaries.
Well that's just me.
I am also not sure if our economy can hold up all the torrents of people who want to come to America and strike it rich. It is sad but our economy is now facing the onslaught of tons of people who can and will work for very low pay rates and therefore makes the job market VERY competative for US citizens who are trying to make ends meet.
Hard question though cause in some ways the competion lowers prices....I am not an economist by any means though...It is an intersting question though.
About safety it is sad that this kind of stuff is going on with illegal imigration...it does need to be cracked down on.
I'm not worried about job competition. What bugs me is the influx of people who have no respect for law and have no problem looting our welfare system.
I think we should make it alot less difficult for people to immigrate here, so long as they do so legally and respect our laws while they are here. On the other hand I think we need to crack down, brutally if necessary on illegals and those who employ them.
Good point the law should be upheld...for sure.
