Stolen!
Yesterday my locker was broken into at the school's gym and my back pack, boots and clothes were stolen. I left my stuff in the locker for less than an hour, came back and it was gone. I am going to try and get the school to pay for the stolen items but I suspect that that will be an uphill battle.

If you write up an article and submit it to the jibsheet, they probably will accept it. This will increase your known status on campus (which is necessarily a good thing) and can help you if you so choose to run for student government. You can also put the fact that you wrote some articles for your school paper which can look good on your resume, etc.
And you also may find some offers from random female-type people who are desiring/"in need of" a male companion-type individual which is also more commonly known by the intellect-lacking masses as "boyfriend".
Hmmm... the phrase in the parentheses should read "which is not necessarily a good thing.
That is horrible! I can't believe how much that stuff costs when you add it all up. Good luck with finding it or getting compensated. You might check with the bookstore to see if anyone's trying to sell your books back, although if they had any sense at all they would sell them online.
Question from the intellect-lacking masses - why should pubishing the fact that your stuff got published make you more likely to get a girlfriend? The Publicity? The Pity factor?
I think what TBQE saying is that it is more from being known on campus by others than it is from being known as someone who got their stuff ripped off.
Wrinting in the Jibsheet might make me better known and cause the school to treat me a little nicer. As far as the girlfriend thing goes, I don't want one. Girls are expensive, fickle and time consuming.
Neemund is correct in his interpetation of what I said. And I thought I would like to clarify that I was not calling those who would try to apply for a date an "intellect-lacking" individual, just those who interpret the purpose of dating incorrectly.
And I highly doubted you would be interested in getting a girlfiend, Rabenstrange. I just mentioned that part 'cause I found it to be amusing. Dating at your stage in life probably wouldn't be your best move in my honest opinion. At least at this point.
I have been now been duly informed that publicity helps one get date offers. Or at least makes one more likely to get date offers. I suppose that if no one has any clue who you are it makes it difficult to get dates. But if someone reads your name a few times I don't think it will help abundantly.
In an obligatory defense of my sex - not all girls are expensive, fickle, and time consuming. Some are thrifty, faithful, and whatever you would call the opposite of time consuming. Time producing? As in the girls who do their boyfriends' laundry. Although that is not a great attribute either.
I know that all girls aren't fickle and expensive (though they are all pretty time consuming) and I don't deny that alot of guys are rude, self centered and smell bad.
What I meant by the comment is that I have school, work, church stuff, reading, and various projects that demand my time and I don't have time, patience or resources to introduce a "girlfriend" into the mix.
I am gonna have to agree with Anna on this one.
Besides some - certainly not all - girls may be expensive and time-consuming, but I've certainly known men to be the more fickle ones. Or maybe that's just the men I date.
Anyway, I wouldn't worry about getting too many phone calls if you write an article. My name's in the newspaper every week and I'm not screening my calls or getting mail applications or anything.
oh gosh....thats alot of stuff stolen! i hope you get your money back!
