The Not So Saintly Martin

This is getting posted late due to a host of problems over the weekend. But here it is, the Black Monday Post:

Contrary to common belief and the propaganda of the so called "Black Community" Martin King Jr. was not an upstanding figure of integrity who wrote amazing speechs and sermons. Martin King Jr. was a plagiarist, an adulter, a womanizer and a communist symapthizer. Yet because he said what the media wanted to hear he became a "Hero of Civil Rights".

So now every year our tax dollars give government workers a paid holiday to celebrate the life of this unscrupulous person.

You forgot the part that he was very divisive in his message. To one group he’d claim that he was a proponent of peaceful demonstration; 24 hours later he’d be in jail for inciting a riot. He was stabbed multiple times, each of them by a black person. Yet he looked good on camera and had a good writer writing speeches for him, so we get a day off for his birthday. In high school, the MLK assembly was the largest, longest, most elaborate assembly for the entire year. The ultimate punishment was not being allowed to go. I tried, but never was able to get out of it, although I managed to put on earphones and fall asleep every time. So I got yelled at later for not properly honoring the man who is revered as being a few levels of importance above God. According to school, he pretty much single-handedly saved the blacks from slavery and depravity.
